Despite preparation, endeavours and good intentions, problems can arise during design and construction. It's essential to have methods for resolving disputes that are independent, fair and transparent.
gal.com has been involved in dispute resolution since 1998, and Kathy Gal is a member of the RIBA Panel of Construction Adjudicators, regularly acting as adjudicator in construction contract disputes. Adjudicators are required to conduct themselves with complete impartiality, transparency and with a clear and appropriate understanding of building contracts and the relevant law as it applies to construction contracts.
We have adjudicated on disputes between clients and architects, contractors and employers and contractors and sub-contractors on matters ranging from quality standards, costs, extensions of time, completion dates to final accounts.
Construction dispute consultancy
We offer consultancy services to individuals or organisations who have concerns that their projects, or their working relationships with their consultants or contractors, are not as expected and who are considering taking further action to seek resolution.
In each case, our advice is based on a comprehensive and thorough review of the project including contractual arrangements, documentation, correspondence and progress, and then we set out the options that might be available providing clear explanations for each course of action.
